Our Teams
Mother Truckers
The Mother Truckers were formed back in the 1970s when a group of working women and moms wanted to figure out a way to continue to play the sport they love - softball! Today we have the daughter of that original team on the roster. Other players include lawyers, teachers, executives, nurses, authors, consultants, paddle pros, and other incredible women - all who just want to play ball. Perhaps our biggest claim to fame is our 3rd base coach Ms. Mac (see below) who famously coached at New Trier High School for 50 years and still yells at us to run faster around the bases.
You’ll find the Truckers post-game at Stormy’s drinking cold beers and sharing crispy fried green beans.
Captain: Kerry Stinchcomb
Girls Night Out
Girls Night Out has been playing in the Winnetka women’s softball league for about 25 years! Many of us had babies and had to take nursing breaks between innings in those early years. A night out with the gals was always as important as the games! Summer softball nights are always a blast. We won the league championship in 2015.
Not ready to retire, we hope to keep playing!
Captain: Karen Santacruz
The Flashbacks
The Flashbacks are excited to be back as part of the Winnetka Softball league. Our team name is in homage to our days of high school softball -- many of us playing for North Shore teams and others from teams across the midwest and beyond. No one in our households can argue when we have a softball game...because when you make a commitment to a team you have to show up. Right? For this group of moms, game nights have become the best excuse to get out of the house together and support each other through life's ups and downs.
The Flashbacks have been playing (and drinking) together since 2016 making game nights the best nights of summer. In the off season and outside our offices, the Flashbacks can be seen around town raising money for causes close to our heart and showing off our JuJu Power. While many of us played softball during our younger days, one rule will always reign on the Flashbacks: NO SLIDING. It's been three years since we took the field together and we can't wait to be back.

The heart of the league
Dan Creaney has umped for the Winnetka Women’s Softball League for over a decade. You may disagree with his strike zone at times, but there isn’t a nicer, more honest guy in the North Shore.
Ms. Mac is an icon in the North Shore as she was a coach and teacher at New Trier High School for 50+ years. Today, you can find this incredible 90-year-old athlete every Monday night coaching 3rd base for the Mother Truckers and yelling at them to “Be a hitter”, that there are" “Ducks on the pond”, and reminding them that “Softball is a running game! No Walking!”
